A small senior team, and we intend to stay that way

KhanLogics builds the operational backbone for small and mid-sized businesses — the enrollment, billing, inventory, pipeline and invoicing systems a company actually runs on — and automates the manual document work inside them.

Why this exists

The gap we kept running into

Small and mid-sized businesses sit between two bad options. Off-the-shelf software is built for the average version of their industry, so it forces them to change a process that often is their actual competitive difference. Custom development is sold to them by firms that quote a fixed price on an undefined scope, staff the work with whoever is free, and disappear at handover.

After six years building enterprise systems — warehouse management, fulfillment and document automation at real scale for Middle East e-commerce operations — the pattern was hard to miss. The engineering is rarely the hard part. What goes wrong is the understanding: nobody spent long enough watching how the work is actually done, and the software encoded the documented process instead of the real one.

KhanLogics started to do that differently and at a size where it is possible. Discovery is paid and separate, so the scope is based on observation rather than optimism. Something working ships every two weeks. The engineer who scoped it writes it. And the source code is yours, because a client who cannot leave is not a client who stays by choice.

The five systems in Solutions exist because we would rather show working software than describe it. They are ours, built by us — not client case studies dressed up as products. When we have real client stories to tell, we will publish them with the client's name and consent, and label them as what they are.

Founder & Principal Engineer

6+ years building enterprise .NET and Python systems — warehouse management, fulfillment, and document automation at scale for Middle East e-commerce operations. KhanLogics is where that experience gets applied to businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets.

That experience is professional history rather than company portfolio, and the distinction matters: work done for an employer belongs to that employer. What it means for you is depth in the specific problems these systems have — transactional correctness, concurrency under load, state machines that survive real edge cases, and document pipelines that stay auditable.

The systems in Solutions are built on personal time, on personal infrastructure, in repositories we own. Everything on this site is ours to show you.

What we commit to

Things you could hold us to

Not adjectives. Each of these is either true of an engagement or it is not, and you can check.

  • You get the source code

In your repository, with no licence that expires and no per-seat fee. If you stop working with us, everything keeps running and someone else can maintain it.

  • The engineer who builds it is the engineer you talk to

No account manager relaying messages, and no substituting juniors for the people you were sold. It is the main reason we stay small on purpose.

  • We tell you when custom software is the wrong answer

Regularly. If an off-the-shelf product fits your process, buying it gets you a better result for less money. Saying so costs us a project and earns the referral.

  • Scope and exclusions in writing, before we start

Discovery is paid and separate, so the quote is based on something real. The exclusions list matters as much as the inclusions — that is where project disputes actually come from.

  • We stay for the month after go-live

Included, not billed as an extension. The first month of real use is when the requirements nobody articulated finally surface, and being gone for it is how systems quietly fail.

  • No invented clients, no invented numbers

Everything on this site is either something we built or something we can demonstrate. When we have client case studies to publish, they will be real ones, published with consent.

FAQ

The questions people actually ask

  • How big is the team, really?

A senior team of 3, based in Karachi and working remotely. We are telling you that rather than implying a larger organisation, because it changes what we are good for: you get people with real experience and direct access to them, and we are the wrong firm for a project that needs thirty engineers. We will say so in the first call rather than the third.

  • You are a new company. Why should we trust you with something important?

It is the fair question, and "trust us" is not an answer. What we offer instead is evidence you can inspect: five working systems with their architecture, roles model and engineering trade-offs published in full, a live demo running the real pipeline, and a founder with six years of production enterprise systems behind him. Start with a paid discovery phase — it is small, it is bounded, and the document it produces is useful whether or not you continue with us.

  • Where are you based and what hours do you work?

Remote-first, based in Karachi, Pakistan. We work Mon–Fri, 10:00–19:00 PKT (UTC+5), which gives near-full overlap with the Gulf, the UK and Europe, and a solid morning overlap with US Eastern. For US Pacific the overlap is genuinely constrained and we will discuss that honestly rather than promise availability we cannot keep.

  • Are you registered as a company?

Registration is in progress and the details will be published in the footer here as soon as they are issued. We would rather show an empty field than a number we do not have yet. Contracts in the meantime are with Muhammad Ali personally, which we will state plainly in any agreement.

  • What do you not do?

Design-led marketing sites, consumer mobile apps, blockchain, and anything where the brief is a technology rather than a problem. We build operational systems and the automation inside them. Being narrow about that is what lets us go deep enough to be worth hiring.

Start with a conversation, not a proposal.

Thirty minutes, no slide deck. We will tell you whether this is worth building, whether something off the shelf would serve you better, and roughly what it would take.
